La Cura, Spanish for The Cure, is a unique wellness retreat full of history that has been thoughtfully reimagined with modern design and architectural renovation to create an environment of beautiful, understated luxury.
Just 20 minutes from Girona and 90 minutes from Barcelona, La Cura is surrounded by more than 40 acres of walnut trees and hops, with access to wonderful hiking and cycling trails, just 20 minutes from the beaches of the Costa Brava.
The spacious, light-filled yoga studio is surrounded by the beautiful garden and encompasses enough space for our twenty eco cork mats and 6-8 yoga hammocks. The room also includes a Pilates area with two clinical reformers and Wunda chairs plus other state of the art pilates equipment. Other features of the yoga room include a sauna with direct access to an outdoor shower, a Japanese Ofuro hot tub and an outdoor 16-metre salt-based pool.
Nine luxurious bedrooms are available for guests, and can be converted to suit singles or doubles. All have been thoughtfully refurbished and feature their own en-suite baths. In addition, there is a private staff room available for the retreat organiser.
Our fully-equipped new kitchen has been designed for learning, and features an island with 16 stools, with a large dining room. Our organic kitchen garden will add to the overall food experience by allowing guests to witness and be part of the seasonal home grown farm to table ethos at La Cura.
There are covered seating areas in the garden, and a fire-pit for evening social gatherings. When the weather is damp or cool, there is a large sitting room with a fireplace as well as a media room for guests to unwind.
